Welcome!

The Austin Jazz Workshop is a unique project that brings professional jazz musicians directly into the public school classroom to work with young people. Since incorporation as a nonprofit in 1994, the group has received rave reviews from educators, administrators, and kids across central Texas.

Austin Jazz Workshop in the public schools

We believe arts appreciation and involvement deserve to be a top priority in a young person's education. Music is such a powerful, positive force for children. We remain steadfast in our commitment to presenting it and encouraging them to join in the process of making music.

The Austin Jazz Workshop mission statement:

The Austin Jazz Workshop's mission is to mentor and perform for public school students in order to encourage their participation in band, orchestra, and choir programs; to uphold and promote the American jazz tradition; and to enhance quality of life for all ages through live performances employing area musicians and collaborations with nonprofit organizations in central Texas.
